The Fiera di San Biagio, one of the patrons of Pietrasanta

The patron saint of Pietrasanta is San Martino, celebrated on 11 November, but San Biagio is the most revered saint by the city and the whole of Versilia, this already since the fifteenth century.

San Biagio is celebrated on 3 and 4 February with the display of his relic in the Collegiate Church of San Martino, which during these days is the destination of a continuous pilgrimage where the blessing of the throat also takes place.

During these two days of celebration there is also a famous agro-zootechnical fair with hundreds of stalls along the streets of the historic center; every year it becomes the meeting point for a large number of visitors who come from all over Versilia and Tuscany.

Pietrasanta also venerates the miraculous Madonna del Sole as the patron saint of the city.

A wonderful image of the Madonna is kept in the votive chapel that bears her name and is located inside the Church.

The image is displayed to believers on the "Saturday of the vote", which precedes Palm Sunday, to renew the thanks of the city for having been preserved from the ruins of the war.

The same exposition is repeated on other solemn occasions and in some important ceremonies during the year.
