The Apuan Alps, a fascinating orographic complex

The beautiful Apuan Alps, a mountain range located in the north-west of Tuscany, bordered to the north-west by the river Magra, to the east by the river Serchio and to the south-west by Versilia and the Apuan Riviera, affecting part of the territory of the provinces of Lucca and Massa-Carrara. The territory, corresponding to their basin and historically also known by the toponym Apuania, that is a part of the territory of Tuscany, since 1985 is partly included in the Regional Natural Park of the Apuan Alps, which since 2012 has entered the network of Geoparks protected by the UNESCO.

The richness and natural beauty of the landscapes, the C.A.I. well defined and structured, the wonderful natural caves, the marble quarries and the presence of shelters that allow you to recharge your energy and taste historical dishes of the area and the extraordinary sea and panoramic view, make the Apuan Alps an immense wealth of the Versilian landscape and Lucchese, offering a unique experience for all seasons of the year.
