Forte dei Marmi is an exclusive tourist destination of the world elite, and its historic market, located in the entire Piazza Guglielmo Marconi, is frequented by Russian and Arab magnates, as in the past it was historically frequented by the Milanese and Tuscan high nobility, without forget the wives of important entrepreneurs who meet here to buy sheets and towels, ceramics for their property by the sea and for that of the city, but also leather goods and soft sweaters in fine cashmere.
Market days in Forte dei Marmi
Wednesdays throughout the year, including holidays, with opening hours at 08:00 and closing at 13:30, with over 200 stalls of various kinds, excluding the food sector.
On Sundays seasonal market, which starts from Easter Sunday and ends on the last Sunday of October each year, with opening hours at 08:00 and closing time at 13: 30, with 55 stalls of various kinds, excluding the sector food.
The Friday seasonal market, which starts from the first Friday of June, until the last Friday of September of each year, with opening hours at 08:00 and closing at 13:30. The seasonal market on Friday is instead located in via Mazzini, Vittoria Apuana with 28 stalls of various kinds, excluding the food sector.
On 28 August each year, the Sant'Ermete Fair, patron saint of Forte dei Marmi, is celebrated. The very important end-of-season fair includes over 400 stalls of various kinds, including the food sector, and extends over a large area that includes the entire historic center of Forte dei Marmi, and most of the remaining central area, with opening at 08:00 and closing time at 24:00. During the night of Sant'Ermete, to celebrate the patron saint and the symbolic closure of the summer season of Forte dei Marmi, from 22:00 it is possible to attend a splendid fireworks display, with fireworks of all kinds, which are triggered from the Forte dei Marmi jetty.
